FLOTSAM AND JETSAM's Mexico Shows To Feature Guitarists MICHAEL GILBERT And EDWARD CARLSON

December 11, 2010

Veteran Arizona metallers FLOTSAM AND JETSAM will perform at club Caradura in Mexico City, Mexico on January 14 and January 15. The band's lineup for the concerts will include guitarists Michael Gilbert and Edward Carlson, who will share the stage for the first time in about 14 years. FLOTSAM AND JETSAM drummer Craig Nielsen tells BLABBERMOUTH.NET, "Mark Simpson [who has played guitar for FLOTSAM AND JETSAM since 1997] can make any personal statement about his status at his discretion as he chooses. He is at a crossroads about future touring and writing at this time."

Craig adds, "We had an offer and it forced an action, in this case very special and exciting for the band and its fans.

"[FLOTSAM AND JETSAM's latest album] 'The Cold' is doing far better in the international press than we expected, our fans profoundly love this record, we have had strong rotation and reaction from Sirius XM radio, sales are respectable and increasing... The band has every reason to stay active."

"The Cold" was released on September 14 via Driven Music Group, the label created by former KORN guitarist Brian "Head" Welch. According to Simpson, the CD features "10 songs — ALL brutal, ALL killer, NO filler!!" The cover artwork, which can be viewed below, was created by Travis Smith (OPETH, NEVERMORE),a collaboration that the band is "extremely excited about because of his amazing skill and vision," says Simpson.
